| This course is designed to provide the student with an overview of the tactical handling of a mountain bicycle for use during law enforcement operations. The course will focus on public relations, nutrition, bicycle maintenance, and riding techniques. 32 hours laboratory. | ||||

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: |

1. Identify and demonstrate police bike patrol riding techniques. 2. Apply concepts and methods of public relations, nutrition and bicycle operations. 3. Demonstrate knowledge of police bike patrol safety equipment and safety procedures. 4. Demonstrate police bike patrol maintenance procedures. |

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION Methods of instruction used to achieve student learning outcomes may include, but are not limited to: |

1. Utilizing activities that allow for demonstrating required skills or knowledge of public relations, nutrition, equipment, bicycle maintenance, and riding techniques of bicycle patrol. |
||||
|
METHODS OF EVALUATION Students will be evaluated for progress in and/or mastery of learning outcomes by methods of evaluation which may include, but are not limited to: |
||||
|
1. Skill demonstrations, skill performance, problem solving, and simulation exercises to assess successful understanding of public relations, nutrition, bicycle maintenance, officer safety and riding techniques related to bicycle patrol operations. |
