A31A Advanced Civil Procedures (POST) Units: 1.00
 
Prerequisite(s): None.

Limitation on Enrollment: Must be sworn peace officer
This course is designed to provide the student with an understanding of advanced civil processes. The course will focus on common writ process, levy processes, and claims of exemption. 24 hours lecture.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

1.    Identify the four basic methods of the levy process:  recording, seizure, garnishment, and filing.

2.    Define the common writ processes of:  claim and delivery, writ of attachment, and post-judgment writ.

Analyze and describe selected statutes of the Code of Civil Procedure and Street and Highway Code 8832.

11.    Pertinent statutes-code of civil procedure                 
12.    Levy workshop-design of the worksheet               
13.    Practical exercises-group scenarios

Students are also assigned reading, writing and other outside assignments equivalent to two hours per one hour lecture.
