COURSE DESCRIPTION

80 Internship Project Units: 1.50
 
Prerequisite(s): PAL 64: Legal Research and Computer Applications
An application course designed to enhance practical research and writing skills including activities in law library and techniques for acquiring permanent employment in law-related environment. A written report will be required to contrast application with theory. 27 hours lecture.
 
SHORT DESCRIPTION FOR CLASS SCHEDULE

Practical law library research and writing activities along with techniques for acquiring employment in law-related environment.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

1.   Compare and analyze various research procedures used in a 
      law-related environment.

2.   Demonstrate an understanding of the function and organization of 
      resources in a law library.

3.   Describe and analyze the nature, activities and relationships of the 
      different types of career areas involved in the paralegal field.

4.   Synthesize personal paralegal career goals and objectives in light
      of the practical experience derived from an out-of-class law-related
      environment.

5.   Develop techniques for acquiring permanent employment.

6.   Prepare a written evaluation of outside of class law-related activities
      contracting practical application with theory.
